Privacy Policy
How Small Business Ideas collects, uses, stores, and shares information across public content, accounts, saved ideas, notes, and related support flows.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have when you use Small Business Ideas and related services. It is written to match the product as it exists on March 20, 2026: public editorial content, account access, saved ideas, notes, and related email and sign-in flows.
We currently use personal information mainly to run accounts, secure the service, store saved ideas and notes, and send account-related emails. We do not currently use site-wide advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to smallbusiness-ideas.com, our localized pages, our account and tools features, and related communications that link to or reference this policy.
It does not govern third-party websites, login providers, or services that we do not control, even if we link to them or integrate with them.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the service.
Information you provide to us may include your name, email address, password credentials, contact messages, saved ideas, note content, and any other information you choose to submit through the service.
If you create or use an account, we may store account records, session records, sign-in metadata, and linked-provider data needed to support login and account security.
If you choose Google sign-in, we may receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, profile image, and linked account identifiers from Google.
We also collect limited technical and usage information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, browser or device information, request metadata, session status, and user agent information.
- Account data: name, email address, profile image, login method, and authentication records
- Tools data: saved ideas, note content, timestamps, and related account associations
- Security and technical data: IP address, user agent, session identifiers, and service logs
- Communications data: emails you send us and account-related emails we send you
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate the service, authenticate users, maintain account sessions, store saved ideas and notes, respond to support requests, send transactional emails, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We also use information to understand how core features are used at an operational level, such as whether a note save succeeded, whether an account session is valid, or whether a login flow is being abused.
- Provide public content and account-based tools
- Authenticate users and manage sessions
- Store and retrieve saved ideas and notes
- Send account-related emails such as welcome emails
- Protect the service against spam, scraping, fraud, and security threats
- Maintain records needed for debugging, auditing, and legal compliance
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we generally rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
Our legitimate interests include running an editorial content service, protecting account security, preventing misuse, and improving product reliability.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers and infrastructure partners that help us operate the service, but only for business purposes consistent with this policy.
Examples include hosting and infrastructure providers, our database provider, email delivery providers, and third-party login providers you choose to use.
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or support a business transfer such as a merger, financing, or asset sale.
- Cloud and hosting infrastructure used to run the site
- Database and storage providers used to store account and tools data
- Resend for account-related email delivery and contact management
- Google, if you choose Google sign-in
- Professional advisors or authorities when legally required or reasonably necessary
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar storage mainly for authentication, session continuity, security, and core product functionality.
Depending on the feature, we may also use browser-side storage for limited state or compatibility purposes, such as keeping track of lightweight product state on your device.
At this time, we do not currently use site-wide advertising cookies or behavioral advertising trackers.
Because there is no universal standard for responding to browser Do Not Track signals, the service does not currently change its behavior in response to Do Not Track requests.
7. Email Communications
If you create an account, we may send account-related emails, such as sign-in, support, security, or welcome communications.
We may also add your email address to our email audience or contact records for service-related communications. If we later send marketing emails, we intend to provide the unsubscribe choices required by applicable law.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operating the service, maintaining records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, and complying with law.
Account data, saved ideas, and notes may remain associated with your account until you remove them, stop using the service, or request deletion, subject to any legal or operational retention needs.
Some technical logs, backups, or archived copies may persist for a limited period even after deletion or update.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are also responsible for helping protect your account by using a strong password, keeping your email account secure, and not sharing login credentials.
10. International Transfers
The service may be hosted or supported from the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
When required, we will take steps intended to support lawful transfer mechanisms.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You can choose whether to create an account, whether to use Google sign-in, and what information to place in notes or communications.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain personal information, or to object to certain processing.
To make a privacy request, contact us at hi@smallbusiness-ideas.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
If you signed in with a third-party provider such as Google, you may also have rights and settings available through that provider.
12. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us at hi@smallbusiness-ideas.com and we will review the request.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The service may contain links to third-party websites, tools, or login services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices and policies, not this one.
We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of third-party services we do not control.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page.
If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the service or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the service after the updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply going forward.
15. Contact Us
If you have questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, contact us at hi@smallbusiness-ideas.com.
