Terms of Service

The rules that govern access to Small Business Ideas, including public content, accounts, saved ideas, notes, and related service features.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Small Business Ideas and related features. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Small Business Ideas is an editorial and research-oriented product for screening, comparing, and revisiting business ideas. It is not a promise of results, and it does not replace legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, or other professional advice.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these terms.

If you use the service on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. The Service

The service provides public editorial content, research-style summaries, business idea exploration pages, account features, saved ideas, notes, and related functionality.

We may update, improve, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

3. Accounts and Login

Some features require an account. We currently support email-and-password sign-in and may also support Google sign-in when enabled.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, your credentials, and your email account. You are also responsible for activity that occurs under your account to the extent caused by your actions or failure to protect access.

You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.

  • Do not share credentials or attempt to access someone else's account
  • Use account features only for lawful and authorized purposes
  • Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised

4. Saved Ideas, Notes, and User Content

You may be able to save ideas, create notes, or otherwise store content through the service. You retain ownership of content you submit, but you give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

You are responsible for your user content and for making sure you have the rights needed to submit it.

Do not place highly sensitive personal information, trade secrets, or confidential third-party information into notes unless you are comfortable with the associated risk.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service or help others do so.

  • Do not violate any law or regulation
  • Do not interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Do not probe, attack, scrape, overload, or attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
  • Do not use bots or automated methods in an abusive or unauthorized way
  • Do not upload malware, harmful code, spam, deceptive content, or harassing material
  • Do not copy, republish, or commercially exploit substantial parts of the service without permission or legal right
  • Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to us

6. Editorial Content and No Advice

The service is designed to help people compare and screen business ideas faster by showing structured information, editorial judgment, and practical decision signals.

Content on the service is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, employment, or professional advice.

We do not guarantee that any idea, market observation, estimate, trend, comparison, or business model is complete, current, profitable, lawful in your location, or suitable for your situation.

7. No Professional Relationship

Your use of the service does not create an advisory, fiduciary, employment, partnership, agency, or professional-client relationship between you and us.

8. Intellectual Property

The service, including its design, layout, branding, original text, graphics, software, and other original content, is owned by or licensed to us, excluding your user content.

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the service for personal or internal business use.

  • Do not remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
  • Do not use our name, branding, or marks without permission
  • Do not reproduce or distribute protected service materials except as allowed by law or with our permission

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The service may integrate with or link to third-party services, such as Google sign-in, cloud infrastructure, email delivery providers, or external websites.

We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.

10. Sponsored Content, Advertising, and Monetization

The service may include sponsored content, paid placements, affiliate-like monetization, promotional links, or advertising now or in the future.

We may receive compensation in connection with certain content, referrals, or partnerships. Where disclosure is required, we intend to provide it.

The presence of monetized or sponsored content does not by itself create a guarantee, endorsement, or warranty unless we explicitly say so.

11. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and incorporate that feedback without compensation or obligation to you.

12. Privacy

Your use of the service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and disclose information.

13. Payments

We do not currently offer paid products or services through the service.

If we later add paid features, subscriptions, or other paid offerings, additional terms may apply.

14. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the service or an account at any time if we reasonably believe these terms have been violated, the service is being abused, security is at risk, legal exposure exists, or the service or feature is being discontinued.

You may stop using the service at any time.

15. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) or the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, operators, service providers, and representatives from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your use of the service, your user content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent consumer protection law in your place of residence requires otherwise.

If you have a dispute or concern, contact us first at hi@smallbusiness-ideas.com and try to resolve it informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, USA, and each party consents to that forum, except where applicable law requires a different forum.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of the page.

By continuing to use the service after revised terms become effective, you agree to the updated terms.
